Operation Anaconda

I'm posting this comment because a lot of people think the only branch's involved in this fight were the army and navy. Some of the greatest sacrifices and acts of valor were performed by the SAS and the USAF Pararescuemen and Combat Controllers. A PJ saved many lives going through enemy fire and was short once, then once more, and finally succumbed to his wounds. This man was awarded the Air Force Cross, second only to the nations greatest reward, the Medal of Honor. Please remember this!

Operation Anaconda was late 2001 I believe. Ten plus years later we are still there? Why?

@360Nomad Afghanistan's Shahi Khot is a mountainy terrain. It has lots of trees when you reach the mountains and is very hard to hike. These may be the 10th Mountain Division from the US Army that weren't supposed to land in the valley. If the video continued, and this was the 10th Mountain, then you would've seen them fighting for survival against Taliban and Al Qaeda insurgents on the mountain peaks. Also this is late February, early march so the ice is starting to thaw and plants are growing.

@drothefuture Senior Airman Jason Cunningham, USAF PJ, Moody AFB, Ga... I attended his funeral in 2002.

@limewireb Yes, because the innocents who died were purposely targeted by the US and non of them were from friendly fire. And Afghanistan is just FULL of oil, no?
Please educate yourself before making dumb comments on videos that have little relevance to your ranting.

@360Nomad They're wearing Desert BDU's underneath those woodland field jackets. Notice the helmet and pants.
