Michael Ruppert & Jerome Corsi - The Peak Oil Debate 2006
Host: George Noory -- Coast To Coast AM
A Fast Blast poll (01/12/2006, after this show) found 62% siding with Corsi and 38% with Ruppert. Were do you side today in 2011?
Author Jerome Corsi and researcher Michael Rupper debated whether oil is a renewable source produced deep inside the Earth, or a finite resource, which will become scarcer within our lifetime.
Corsi's position: Oil is not "fossil fuel" but rather an "abiotic" substance that is naturally replenished on a constant basis. The so-called scarcity is a tact taken by the oil companies in order to increase their profits. Various surveys going back to the early 1900's have all claimed that we were going to run out of oil, but we now have a greater supply than we ever had. Oil companies should lose their tax incentives if they don't increase their reserves.
Ruppert's position: The world is behaving as if the Peak Oil theory were true, and our supplies will begin to dwindle from the amount they are now at. The notion of replenishing abiotic oil is not supported in scientific literature. Further, specific abiotic sites such as Dneiper-Donets basin and the Eugene Island Lot have turned out to be a bust or in decline in terms of supplying oil. People should adjust their lives as if Peak Oil is indeed true, and prepare and plan ahead for that eventuality.
The german military released a report on the security implications of peak oil and in the conclusion said something like while human psychology will keep people from talking about and investigating this problem peak oil is inevitable.

This was 2006. Ruppert has since predicted the collapse of the housing market and the 2008 financial disaster. Corsi has always been just another Glenn Beck clone and w/o Fox News he wouldn't have a pot to piss in.

Richard Dawkins gets his clock cleaned time after time in his debates with creationists....he even lies about it
Recently Rabbi Schuley Boteach wrote:
“ ...Dawkins attacked me on his website and denied that he and I had ever debated. My office quickly posted the full footage of a two hour debate which took place on October 23, 1996, a debate which Dawkins actually lost after a vote taken by the students as to which side, science or religion, caused more students to change their minds.

@seemorerocks People are stupid because they dont believe what you believe ? Evolution is obvious, but origin is not.......global warming MAY be happening but it is in doubt if it is man who is causing the problem....we have kept weather records for what....about 200 years ?.....hardly enough evidence

Wiki says of Jemome Corsi:
"Corsi went into banking and finance in 1981."

I imagine Corsi doesn't want to see the end of the American (Federal Reserve) domination of fiat currency.
Peak Oil may be a theory, but it will serve me by being the foundation upon which I relate to a community of people who will build a life of independence from corporations and capital markets that fund two sides to every war, pollute the biosphere, and practice two-tiered justice.

Petroleum is abiotic.

62% of people believed Mr Corsi?! I wonder what people would say AFTER 140 dollar oil and economic meltdown. Or is it simply that a majority of Americans are stupid (like they don't believe in evolution or global warming - the other "hoax".

This Corsi guy is an idiot. Not only did Ruppert show lots of his facts were wrong but just about everything has was saying at the time was proven wrong - including his ridiculous assertions about increasing housing prices!! Global oil production demonstrably peaked about the time they were speaking.
But hey, let's not let facts get in the way!

Mike Ruppert debating this douche' is like Richard Dawkins debating a creationist. Ruppert is right, but it's entertaining.
