We got married in Connecticut on November 7th, 2009 and had the ceremony on November 14th with our friends and family at our home in Georgia. It was very special to include our four children. It's hard to believe that only 14 years ago, Cobb County BOC passed a resolution declaring that homosexuality was incompatible with the standards to which this community subscribes. Most of the 125 guests at our wedding were straight neighbors and friends from Cobb County!! They used sand we collected in Sanibel, Fl to build the beach we stood on to exchange our vows.

  • Thanks for your kind comments. The primary reason we shared the video on YouTube was to inspire acceptance, understanding and hope. You post means a lot to us. - John and Chris

  • Chris and John that was the MOST meaningful, kind, touching, honest and REAL wedding I have ever seen. Thank u for sharing, it makes me feel there is still hope for love whenever it is. God bless you and your children

  • @turkuaz3 Thank you for your comments. I agree that wherever there is love, there is hope. Wherever there is acceptance and a willingness to understand and appreciate our differences, there is a bright future for us all. - John and Chris

  • I have watched many gay weddings on you tube and yours brought me to tears. Its so nice that the world is changing to not judge gay people. Its wonderful that you had a room full of family and friends who joined you in your celebration. Wish you many yrs of joy. Oh and did you have a grandson or grandaughter? Sharon

  • @fulltmom1 Hi Sharon, Thank you for your kind words. We, too, are thrilled to see increasing social acceptance of the LGBT community. The vast majority of the 125 guests at our wedding were straight and most had never been to a gay wedding. BTW, my daughter had her 3rd child, a girl, three months after our wedding. Now we're grandparents times four. Best, John

  • OMG GZ

Such amazing accepting children.. one question though..

    Were your ex-wifes there too?

  • @HalfofMyInnerme We both have maintained positive relationships with our ex-wives. Nonetheless, we imagined that it might feel a bit awkward having our "ex's" at our wedding. So, no, they were not there.
