The blueprints for the liberty ships date back to the 19th or early 20th century: a boilerplate steam ship, not particularly elegant but got the job done in a mass-produced, quick-need world. Heck, sounds like my daily grind! Anyhow, if you've seen the movie "Titanic", you've seen these guys going around before.

  • fukin aweesome where was this at?

  • This is the engine room of the Jeremiah O'Brien. Its currently docked at Pier 45 in San Francisco and is open daily for tours. They fire up the engine a few times while at harbor (usually the third weekend of every month) and on the cruises which they usually will do four or five times a year. You can read more at their website.

  • Weren't those engines used in the movie "TITANIC"?

  • Rumor has it they are.
