V-ART is a framework developed in C++ to facilitate software development with 3D environments, in special those that contain virtual humans. It distinguishes itself from other 3D frameworks such as Open Inventor, PLIB, Maverik, and VR Juggler for being entirely object oriented, featuring a animation system and for allowing the representation of biologically correct joints. V-ART has its origins in the VPAT project and therefore it was known for that name until May 2006, when it was renamed. It was designed to be multiplatform (Linux, Windows, etc.) and independent of graphical API (OpenGL, Direct3D, etc.). http://www.codeplex.com/ndos
