Those pitching staffs were VERYVERY solid, don't forget the relievers back then threw at least 2 or 3 innings,not 2 or 3 outs like today. 1976 staff that swept the Yanks all could have started but Bourbon. No such thing as a "CLOSER" back then.

One of the biggest the mysteries to me is how those young pitchers all disappeared after 1976. Gullett, Eastwick, McEnaney, Gary Nolan, Pat Darcy, Santo Alcala, Manny Sarmiento, and others. Jack Billingham, Pedro Bourbon, and Fred Norman played the course.
