Before the first emigration of Jews, at the end of the 19th century, Palestine was an arid and almost deserted region of the Ottoman Empire. Nobody wanted this land... Except for the Jews. Arabs sold it, and then tried to get it back. Real story. Why ? All the work had been done. It is easier to claim than to built.
