Just got this early hopper cooled woodpecker hit and miss engine. It was built by the Middletown Machine co. Middletown Ohio. It is dated around 1908. Unique features are the exhaust valve location on the side of the head and the 5 spoke flywheels.

  • Congratulations on your new edition to the family. I like those woodpeckers!

  • Nice runner!!

  • Beautiful engine. Could listen to it all day long.

  • You should put a small load on the flywheel to show how it runs more power strokes
