The actors say that pls follow emotional changes btw the king, his bodyguard and the queen. Love making is just a functional factor to express their feelings in the movie. But you are the judges. In my opinion, there are too many bed scenes, 3 or 4 would've been better including gay sex.

The king is gay and loves his bodyguard secretly in Koyuo dynasty, but still has to give a birth for his country. So he asks his lover(well, not just a lover, he truly loves him and trusts him) to have sex with his own queen to get pragnent. And dot dot dot!
The bodyguard and the queen discover(?) love through their several love making. And ofc the king finds out in the end and all are dead except the queen. Personally I think the only person who actually loves someone is the king in this movie
