    For the same reason that they order pineapple cheese pizzas with extra pineapples and extra cheese to their meetings (true story). They're nerds!

    Who are you to say those items are worthless? Perhaps you wouldn't want them and think what they do is a waste of time but obviously they don't think so. I think it would be wise to consider the possibility different people have different interests.

    Also, if you don't like the narrator's presentation, perhaps you could provide some constructive criticism next time?

    I'm sorry if this post makes you feel attacked... I'm just a little fed up with all the negativity around Youtube these days.

    Turning old technology into worthless items is not "clever" it is a waste of time. How many times did he say "collectively"? Industry does not "monopolize technological practices" whatever the f#@% that means. The narrator is delusional and spews pseudo-intellectual babble.

    Oh and I have no problem repairing modern day technology.
