Does anyone know what kind of strings Mintz is putting on the Il Cannone in this video? When he crumples up the package, you can briefly see the front of it. I believe that they are dominate strings. But I'm not sure.

2 Complaints about this so called extraction of sound, 1- Paganini used no shoulder rest, no cushion, no chin rest. 2- Paganini used gut strings not synthetic/stee/metal/w-e! :3 IMO, any violation of those 2 complaints is simply defiling the style of pre 1820 Spohr violin playing and especially Paganini's style&sound. However, he does manage to play it with a beautiful sound. I do enjoy Mintz's art but this isn't authetic Paganini. :3
