Yeah, a nice large spinning reel could hold most medium sized sharks

its the bat alert, u turn it on when the bail on the reel is open and it will let out line and click to let u know something is biting with out actually engaging the drag so you can let the fish take the bait and then pick up the rod and close the bail to set the hook when neccesary

i live in pensacola, but not in the service... have you fished any other good spots for sharks outside of the navy base?

@johnrmistrot yeah, beach access number 3 on johnsons beach is usually very productive for me as well, the beach at fort pickens is also very productive most of the time

I love using mullet for shark bait, Scale the fish before you prepare it how ever cause mullet are very oily fish and if you scale it it will release A LOT of extra scent.
