Republic and democracy are descriptions of two different things (one is a form of goverment, the other is the system of goverment). So, for example you have the former Soviet Union, which was a republic, but not a democracy. You also have India, which is a democracy but not a republic. The US is both. North Korea is neither.

I said once again, there are large differences between republics and democracies (And commend CA's realistick views of including them instead of the corrupted Democracies) Your defenitions as are- are obviously defenitions. To keep things simple, they don't compare and contrast the two (Like I said, they're defenitions) And you can read my posts explaining the differences as a raference to how they obviously, differ.

@xxMrFablexx Erhm, we are a Constitutional Republic. Our govornment is based off the roman Reipublicae, the Dutch republic of the 17th century, with documents based off of other countries, such as England's/Great Britain's Magna Carta. We also follow a constitution (Which a democracy does not, you could elect away your freedoms) and we have more than one political party to vote for.

@xxMrFablexx The main difference is, dictators took control of their countries be force, and abuse their people. The Monarch is descended by a family of saints that have done great deeds, and elected by the people to rule the kingdom. Kings are USUALLY good-willed, but not always so. They mostly have morals.
