@CViFi Metallica's version is an abomination of Thin Lizzy's arrangement! I'm a Metallica fan, but they butchered this song.

@tony10396861 Yes - NOT the Cork and Kerry mountains ! T L responsible for that miscreant !

@qrwamqc Thanks, had a listen to mad dog mcrae's performing Whiskey in the Jar, certainly is a rocked up version of the old Irish folk rag, makes for a great aerobics work out too. lol. Also check Irish Celtic Cornish Folk Rock - Mad Dog MCrea Perranporth - that's real nice whistling. We talking about the same mcrae? Can't see how mcrae would have anything on Luke Kelly, but nevertheless he's also good entertainment value.

@stanibol u should hear mcrea in the pub in plymouth type it in your k-board u`llbe satisfaced

@ScotlandMarco I just want to add that the Metallica Version is a Thin Lizzy Cover; so they ruined it first. the ruining (from the original) metallica did on top of that is minimal.
And out of respect for other cultures, to every man his own.

Love this song and its cool refrain - take your pick: "Mush a ring a ding a da", and it's "Ri too ral laddy O" instead of "Whack fol de daddy O",
