First of all, amazing song. Second of all, he isn't retarded. He had a mental breakdown and all of his shaking in stuff is because of a mental illness. Real Nice, jerk. I like what mwhalen0787 said also. Very nice.

Everyone is so caught up in his illness that they can't see the human message. He acknowledges he's in a sinner;s world, and it upsets him that he's surrounded by sinners, yet he comes to the blatant reality that he himself is part of the world and thus he is a sinner. It's beautiful, really.

yes. please watch "the devil and Daniel Johnston"
hes one of a kind and has one of kind story. and dont pity him but admire him for what he is. sometimes it needs ppl like daniel to show us the beauty of life. apart from all this mainstream nonsense.
