Chrono Trigger DS Boss #12: Magus

Magus! ^_^ the battle theme!

But noooo!!! I forgot to get a Magic Capsule inside of Magus's Castle!

Magus, he is certainly a tough enemy, as he can defeat the normal player easily if he or she is not well prepared for this battle, as he has Barrier Change to cast the spell representing his weakness (e.g. He is weak to Fire when he casts Fire II). Once he's down to when he lowers his defense to cast a spell, have everyone at least 300 HP in order to survive Dark Matter, which will deal quite a lot of damage, though one of your characters may have the Dark Mail equipped.

For his strategy, when Magus is weak to Fire, use Lucca and Crono's Fire Sword dual tech, when he's weak to Water, use Sword Stream, when he's weak to Light, use Lightning (II) or Lightning Rod with Crono and Frog if you have it, and when he's weak to Shadow, have Robo use Laser Spin. When he lowers his defense to cast a spell, go all out at him, as he will lose his absorption and physical defense, leaving him very vulerable. Seize this opportunity to use your best techs!

for what i know the Dark Mail cannot be gotten in that part of the game (unless is a New game+)

also attacking Magus with the masamune lower his magic defense

I made a mistake with Black Plate and Dark Mail, since Dark Mail has +5 Magic Defense and Black Plate absorbs Shadow damage.

yes, but do not believe that you have very advanced?, is at level 29 already Crono Frog and Lucca in 27, so it is easy to defeat Magus, typically be between 22 and 25 level, so if it is a challenge
