The Colombo Society in Trail is one of Canada's oldest Italian Benevolent Societies. In 2007, the members decided to revitalize the City's century-old Italian district by building a traditional Italian piazza. Although the youngest member of the construction crew was 64 and the average age was 74, the team of close friends was focused on building a part of their Italian heritage to honour their ancestors. The Piazza Colombo consists of a community greenspace and meeting place and features a large fountain and several gardens. The sotry aired on British Columbia's Global TV News on July 8, 2007 (6:16pm PST)
