Lackeys? Murderers? Cold-blooded, two-faced, lying corporate twats? I can think of a fair few ways to describe them, and none of them favourably.

@LloydsTSBLiars true. i have had bad experience with them too.
i won the tribunal hearing and also atos acknowledged that their doctor had made mistakes- he had infact lied. I also know that they recruit doctors from abroad and hold a gun to their head- these doctors are not registered to practice here but only hold licences to work.

Atos were once called 'The McDonalds of the Medical Profession', and the medical profession hold Atos in extremely low regard.
Outside the NHS, they're the biggest employer of UK medical staff (very few of them being practicing GPs), and there's a reason for that.
Atos takes on the refuse of the medical profession - people with some medical training/experience, but not enough to get a job within the NHS or any half-decent private medicare firm.

@LloydsTSBLiars true. also i was declined DLA owing to a report from the doctor of atos. I am also going to a tribunal for this because their doctor said that i dont suffer from any illness. I showed him mountains of medical reports. I now find out that he is not qualified here. he only has a licence. he cannot practice as gp here or as consultant. what a scam?

That's why an Atos verdict does not turn up on NHS medical reports, as seen by GPs or specialists, and nor will they ever.
If such verdicts WERE put there, and Atos' information is found to cause harm, or adversely affect decisions, as regards course of recovery/treatment later on, then that would leave Atos/DWP wide open to damages claims.
However, their decisions have helped to kill two people already - I think many more will be coming if this rotten situation continues.

In terms of credibility, the DWP know perfectly well that Atos verdicts are worthless.
The term Atos/DWP are fond of is 'evidence based medicine' - bullshit! And that's because of evidence of more credible med-personnel known to the patient is ignored.
If a tribunal rules that wrong info has been logged, I'd urge a complaint to the G.M.C AND the B.M.A, using the tribunal verdict as substantiation. If enough of this goes on, it may go some way to ruining the Atos monopoly.
