1956 Seeburg V200 Jukebox Plays Elvis 'Jailhouse Rock'

This beautiful vintage 1956 Seeburg V200 Jukebox was affectionately known as the Cadillac of Jukeboxes. In its day, it cost just over $1000, more than the cost of a new car! First to have 200 plays, chrome in abundance and still one of the best sounding Jukeboxes ever! The only way to listen to Elvis! Shame I have to let this machine go! If anyone is wondering, the Jukebox in the background is a 1960 Wurlitzer 2410.

Thanks! I brought it back from the U.S and the chrome and body were already in excellent condition. I did however spend £1000 having the amp rebuilt, new cartridge etc as well as converting it to UK voltage. As I say though, must let it go, so if you know of any other Jukebox buffs that may be interested.....

Id like something that sounds this good to play my iPod and PSP thru. I know mp3s wont sound as good as a 45 but thats just what I listen to music on.

Also another thing that is over looked is the volume control pot. You'd be surprised how it affects the sound. I always replace the volume control in an amp rebuild. The V/VL, KD/KS and 201 were the absolute peak of the Seeburg jukeboxes. Each one of them a Cadillac. FANTASTIC machines!

Its that Varco cartridge. It was a cheap replacement for the redhead cartridge. Go with redhead or Pickering replacement. Also the amp needs to be shotgunned with resistors. Too many "professionals" that restore an amp only recap it and don't include the resistors. One MAJOR "professional" says they aren't necessary. HOGWASH! All the components age and need to be replaced. It should absolutely run you out of the room! The volume and dynamics of the late 50's Seeburgs is incredible!

Yep! Was a great improvement over the pin bank. No moving parts. The clicking is the mech itself. Not the pulse amp. The pulse amp is silent.

This is a 1955 model, but they were produced well into 1956. This is a later one, as evidenced by the painted gold discs on the mech cover and ends. Earlier ones were plated and the earlier mechs had a polished flywheel. This machine uses a core storage unit. The selector is DIGITAL. This is the first non-computer device to use digital memory. It has 200 bits, one per selection. The ticking sound while scanning is the read pulse timer. The VL is a very different machine. They only LOOK alike.

1955, not 1956 and that's a Varco cartridge and the reason is sounds muddy. Get an original redhead like was on it originally and it will sing.

Not the first 200 select jukebox. Seeburg already had a 200 select 78RPM mech while the Trashcan was in production. They were testing the market with it as a background music machine. Too big and too heavy, they cut it down to 100 select and put out the M100A.
