I doubt MJK has read Martin Heidegger's works, but Tool seem to be steeped in his ideas of art being purely subjective, creating it's own world for the observer, opening up a sacred space, etc.Letting a piece of art simply exist for itself instead of being used in a technological way by serving a function or being symbolic. Art is not a technical artifact. It exists in its own space, so forget about any connection it has with our world, our time etc.

To me, this song is a simple social commentary on the growing lack of comfort with vulnerability in our generation.
