I for one welcome this .22 incarnation of the Sturmgewehr, because it will be UK legal.

@shottimes it really begs the question, why is PTR not producing more if they sold out? Obviously there's demand, and $4,250 is sheer greed. I would buy one for $1500-3000 if they actually did it again. The cost to manufacture an STG when they obviously already have the equipment/CNC blueprints can only be as high as say, Auto Ordnance's milled tommy guns

@shottimes It was sold out.. I do wan't one

@792x33 They have them coming out this year and they are 22 long rifle. Sturmgewehre has a booth reveiw from the 2012 SHOT show. If they are manufactoring the weapon they can make it in any caliber or multiple calibers. 22 LR is fine for me because it would be a plinking rifle but an inexpensive centerfire round would work. 5.45x39 ,7.62x39 ,5.56 or the original caliber 7.92x33 but I think it would be too costly for plinking.
-
@mrtlsimon No, the cases of those calibers are too long. .30 Carbine might be a plausible fit, but why not 7.92x33? Prvi Partizan of Serbia makes the ammo NEW and it is available on the US market. If only the ATF would let in the full caliber version, they could make more and we could see the price come down.

They will make HUGE profit with these new products...
Can you keep the wood grate and sell it cheaper ? What about a 7.62x39 MP44 ???

@RABERTRON, the PTR44 was sold a few years ago for $4-5k so if you have that kind of money you can probably buy it, but it'll be a lot more than $5k 'cause there are only 150 here in the U.S.

@HiCapacity I buy it but it's not the 7.92x33 so it's useless

@MrErnest18045, google PTR44, you'll pay at least $5k if you want one.

how can it be imported as a pistol with a fixed stock? wouldn't that be a sbr? whats the barrel length that is shown?
we sell the gsg rifles and pistols at my shop, and hope to stock these as well. I just hate when some of these guns have to have that big barrel protruding out, ( we call them the dog dick here).
keep em coming!

@delawareindahouse, the pistol version will have the stock in the folded position permanently pinned. This way it will look authentic as opposed to having the stock removed.
