Leg Extensions are a great exercise to build your quadriceps.
This is all leg extensions are good for. If you want to build the quadriceps muscles.
Leg extensions do very little for athletic performance or functional strength. Numerous studies have demonstrated this.
When you perform leg extensions it is 100% very important you keep your feet dorsiflexed during 100% of the range of motion.
Dorsiflexion is lifting your toes up towards the ceiling, the opposite of pushing your toes into the floor.
It is also important you keep your butt in contact with the chair. If you keep this in mind during the entire set you will get a better focused contraction on your quadriceps.
The third thing is to perform the set under control and lower the legs to a 90 degree angle.
