  • I actually found out that this guitar was actually made with the electronics of a Gibson M-III, which was a Super Strat kind of guitar (ugly as well, haha). So, that explains the guitar's name. :)

  • @DemoColorScheme Yep, I'm still trying to find a couple of M-III's that aren't beat to hell. I actually like them. I have my Gibson MVX Victory guitar that also has the same wiring too. Oddly enough...it was a much earlier guitar. lol

  • Ho Scott,

Does it have short scale of course?

  • @wieslawtworzywo This guitar? Nope, not short scale at all.

  • @DemoColorScheme Yeah, it will be a challenge for sure. I've been looking for a couple of years for another one to go with this one. I've ran across 3 of them, but they've all been mutilated beyond repair. It's too bad.

  • @groovydjs

Agreed! I'll have to track one of these down here, in the Netherlands, I've never seen 'em pop up, so I think it's gonna be quite the challenge.

  • @DemoColorScheme True, when you go to splitting the pickups, they never sound 100% like humbuckers and never sound 100% like single coils. It's just the nature of the beast. But, as you said, the single coil sounds are fatter than normal and that's a good thing, then the humbucker mode is clearer than typical humbuckers, not so dark sounding. So, it makes for a whole different animal and doesn't sound like any other guitar out there....again, a great thing. I love these things!

  • @groovydjs

I'm sure! I love the idea behind it, because I put coil taps on all of my humbucker guitars. I actually like coil taps on Les Pauls especially because somehow ... it works. It's Stratty, but different as well. Loads of body, but still twangy.

  • @DemoColorScheme Good Man! If there was ever any Les Paul to have....this is the one for sure!. No other version comes anywhere close to what this one is capable of. You'll be very happy when you land one of these. Just make sure that it's original and that the wiring and pickups have never, ever, ever been tampered with. Once folks destroy these by putting in some Dimarzio stuff or Duncan garbage, it's a REAL PAIN to get them back to stock.

  • This LP is brilliant. Love the routing on this thing, with all the coil-tapping and such. Love the grain on it as well! Gotta get me one of these some day!
