I hope Mr. Griffith is successful in his Makani Power venture. However, he has made some incorrect assumptions regarding hydrocarbons. The amount of hydrocarbons available depends on the level of technology (e.g. efficient drilling), which is an unknown that can suddenly increase. In addition, the consumption of hydrocarbons depends on the level of technology (e.g. efficient engines), which is an unknown that can suddenly decrease. None of these are static nor used in decade long insights.
