In 1988, Fisher Price introduced the PXL 2000, a kids' video camera that recorded in black and white on high bias audio cassette tapes at very high speed.

I bought one for my sister's kids, and one for myself (just for grins). This brief series comprises short videos I made with the PXL in 1989.

  • LOL! Okay, this is the best kitty cat magic and interview show recorded on a Fisher Price PXL 2000 that I have EVER seen!

The final 10 seconds choked me up.

  • She was one of a kind, with so much "personality." She also did unintentional impressions of Flipper and Granny Clampett, though I never got those on videotape.

    :)

  • I bet we thought then, like we do now, that it could not get any better than this! Fun times mate! :D

  • Not for $100 it couldn't! But yeah, one day when it's all holographic images, our little 2-D camcorders and webcams will seem equally quaint.

  • how did he die?

  • Very sweet and historic. I like videos like these. They are the reason why we keep memories recorded on tape. So we can look back and enjoy the time's past.
