Hello Anonymous, after you have been introduced to the controls of movie maker this part will tell you where you can get the ammunition to you new weapon.
To effectively use your new weapon of mass propaganda, you will need video footage, compelling music, pictures and a narrating voice. It is imperative that all these components are licensed for non commercial usage to avoid DCMA claims or other copyright infringement complaints by the enemy. This will guaranty that your video will not vanish from the tubes easily.
A good choice is to look for creative commons licensed material or completely licence free.
There are four icons you should know when looking for material licensed under creative commons. A property which all CC licenses enfold is the Attribution property. It shows that people are allowed to copy, distribute, display, perform and remix these materials. Furthermore there are the attributes Non-Commercial which allows the non-commercial use of material, share alike which allows the use of the material if the newly created work is also published under the same licence as the original and the no derivate works which you are allowed to use, but not to alter in any way and if this is wished must be allowed by the copyright owner.
Note that royalty free does not mean licence free and is not appropriate for anonymous purposes.
Although you have nothing at the moment this tutorial will show you how to make a great video out of it.
Download the Firefox internet browser from Mozilla.com, install Firefox and then choose tools and add-ons in the dropdown menu. Now enter download helper and install the add-on. Restart firefox. A good source for anonymous video content are youtube videos of other anonymous. Since you are anonymous, they are yours as well. Choose a video youd like to use footage from, as shown here, and click on the downloadhelper icon and choose save in high quality. Since you will need more footage to create a good video you can get other licence free footage from the website stockfootage for free.com where you need to register to download. Choose the video you want and right click to download. A source of creative commons licensed media is wikimedia commons, where you can also get pictures, music and more.
We will continue with pictures here. Just enter anonymous into the searchfield and you will find material you can use like the anonymous logo. Save it for later use. Other free picture sites are sxc.hu, stockvault.net or the creative commons licensed flickr.com pictures. Also important are the anonymous decentralized networks of the city cells. They are all listed on anonstillalive.com. for example anon-hh.ning.com.
At this point you will need music. There are several sources of creative common licenced or licence free music like freeplaymusic.com, the creative commons website creativecommons.org, jamendo.com or the internet archive for open source audio.
We will use freeplaymusic.com, choose style orchestra and feel epic. Choose a title that seems appropriate. Right click to save it.
The time is right to introduce you to another long term companion of anonymous. If you need a narrator, david is just your guy. Go to cepstra.com and click on downloads and download the david installation file for your operating system to your computer and install it. Choose typical settings. You can now start david and copy any text into the programm. David will read it to you. You can save these soundfiles via export audio file. David will sometimes say that you should register him, but you can easily cut these parts out later.
You now have everything that is needed to effectively produce a propaganda video for the cause. In the next tutorial unit we will show you how moviemaker and your files will come together.
