Rice Summer Business Institute Disney Team Presentation, Summer, 2009

Should you buy, sell, or hold your Disney stock. That was the question the winning team at this year's Rice Summer Business Institute (RSBI) had to answer as they and six other teams presented their stock recommendations at the closing day of the two week institute held at the business school at Rice University.

RSBI is hosted by the Jones School, in collaboration with Project GRAD, a nonprofit organization dedicated to increasing high school and college graduation rates in under-served communities. RSBI students spend 70 intensive hours over their summer break analyzing stocks, learning about the world of energy, and connecting with some of the most prominent names in Houston business.

The two-week curriculum was designed by Professor Jill Foote, RSBI director and director of the El Paso Corporation Finance Center. Professor Barbara Ostdiek serves as the Institutes executive director, and Professors Gale Wiley and Rick Schell joined Foote as Institute instructors.

The RSBIs main goal is to expand its students horizons in terms of possible career paths and thus sow seeds for Houstons next generation of diverse business leaders.
