  • how can it be efficient while starting and stopping combustion just like any other slight modification of an otto cycle engine?

  • I've just got an old book from 1938 or earlier. It is called ' The Modern Diesel'. In it, amongst many diesel engines around at the time is a Dutch engine, a Hulsebos Hesselman. It runs on this exact principal. This was en engine in use at the time of publication, not a futuristic idea. I can't find any info about it on the 'net. The book is available on Amazon.

  • This one sucks... Not efficient at all, look at all of that complexity.

  • It looks like that engine can make lots of vibration at high speeds because ot the moving pattern it has...

  • @Tagard1995 This is definitely not a complex design. The type of axial engine featured in this video is the simplest of engineering concepts.

  • There is one of these in use as a generator. But what is the benefit? its a complex design.

  • @ZombieCyborgJesus Ive already thaught of this. I know that with more cylinders less idle speed is needed. Im a mechanic. A v6 can idle at 750 yet a single cylinder runs at 1500-1750 idle.

  • @Tagard1995 The cylinders are obviously fired at a much higher rate.

  • Air conditioning compressor system.
