Airbus A380 F-WWJB with callsign 'Lufthansa 8948 Super' arrives at Dulles Airport for the first time. The pilot nails the landing perfectly. This was a nighttime arrival so everything is dark or cast with the orange ramp lighting.

I have to say this plane is much more attractive in person that it is in pictures. It's immense size is also surprisingly stunning in person.

  • 747 is a classic aircraft but its basic design is over 40 years old. A lot has happend with avaition technology since then.

  • the retards say "its better than the 747".. we well see in 25 - 30 years how many failures and accidents will occur with this crappy plane ;)

  • No because the a380 is so bog it can only land at certain airports like Dulles.

  • it has awsome tvs

  • your right Boeing rules!

  • I was wrong I admit it, but trust me I've got far more important things to think about. I actually meant the 787 which as you point out hasn't flown yet- my error. And in answer to your question whats wrong with GE engines- The clue is who builds them. Same for cars, and pretty well everything else that the same great nation builds- Under engineered over rated crap backed up only by a national sense of patriotism to back up sales. Peace.

  • Haha, so having a life simply means you're allowed to take random guesses on the facts/figures of any aircraft? Nice. Yeah in that case I have zero life, sorry! I'll try to be more ignorant next time. Oh and what's wrong with GE engines? The most powerful production jet engine in the world is the GE90-115B, which is ONLY on the 777.

  • More fool Boeing for using General Electric engines then. Anyway what do I know I might like planes but I still have a life.

  • False! In many ways.. first of all, the 777 does NOT use the Trent 1000, which is the proposed engine for the 787 which has yet to enter service. Second, the 777-200LR is the longest range commercial A/C out there, but only with the GE-90-115B engines. None of these are planned to fit the A380, by the way (which uses the Trent 900 and GP7200)
