This is a video demonstration on how quickly the HP Compaq 2710p tablet PC goes into sleep mode and wakes up from sleep mode. Although it only has a 4200rpm hard drive, an Ultra Low Voltage 1.2ghz Intel Processor, and is running the resource greedy OS of Vista Business, the 2710p is speedy in waking up and going into Sleep Mode.

  • Hi, is it easy to change the hard drive of this? How much slower is the 4200rpm hd that came with this compared with 5200rpm ones? I'm thinking about buying one from ebay, do you recommend it?

  • @metardd I did not personally replace the drive; it was done before my ownership of the tablet. I would have highly recommended it a few years ago, but modern-day computers have the potential to be sooo much faster. The machine's no slouch though; it is one of the fastest computers I've experienced and it's extremely impressive considering the ULV technology of the processor and the age of the device. I would recommend the 2710p if price is an issue, otherwise the 2730/40/60p would be better.

  • Nice tablet, but it's a shame it doesn't have a touchpad. HP stuffed up tremendously in my opinion. They rectified it though with the 2730/40P.

I've had mine for about 15 months, and now it just sits in the draw.
