Could a sudden climate shift that took place 5,200 years ago tell us more about what the Maya predicted for 2012?

  • I think some people NEED to believe that the world is going to end in their lifetime. As scary as it might be, I think for some it beats acknowledging that the world is going to continue on without them.

  • If you look at other cultures in Asia, there is no prediction of doomsday and they are just as sophisticated as Mayans. It makes good television cause people like stimulating programs =)

  • people are not suppose to know when the world ends!the world ends is when god comes to earth!only god knows when the world ends!god is doing it whenever he wants!so it might not happen on 2012!people said last saturday at 6:00pm the world will end but it didnt!!!so it wont probably!thumbs up if u agree

  • ? isn't the long count calendar 26,000 years?

  • @JSM10069 I'd rather believe the world will go on with out me. And I know it will. :)

  • @JSM10069 I never thought of it that way. I always thought that people think so much of themselves and love the cares of this world so much, that their EGO will not let their minds accept that the END IS NEAR. Hurry!!!

Play more with your toys!!! The end is near.

  • the end is gonna be here sooner or later. But not in 2012. Even if it is. It's really not that surprising. What is all the fuss about? If it ends, then it ends. Nothing to fuss over about. We all kno that nothing last forever.

  • Watch Greg Braden on fractal time, it relates to this video.

  • We are a little more advance than they where 5,200 years ago. If humans survived whatever happen then I bet they can do it now.

  • @MrAmperz -- I respectfully disagree with your statement. NATGEO is not saying the world will end, they are filming scientist who are saying SOME KIND OF CLIMATE CHANGE HAPPENED 5,000 yrs. ago. They are just mentioning that it may have coincided with the Mayan prediction. Yes, the Mayan believed in the end of the world but it happened to be the end of their calendar and unfortunately they didn't survive long enough to make their calender longer.

  • I'm disappointed that NATGEO would actually upload 2012 garbage. NASA confirmed that the world will not end in 2012 recently. I knew it wouldn't end anyway. There's also several websites saying that the world will not end. It's a hoax, a hoax that led to the suicide of many people and scared children. Yet, there's TV shows telling everybody the world might end in 2012. The 21 of December is the end of the winter solstice that year not the world. Why would the world suddenly end that day?

  • 0:40, those look like frozen waves or something. i know everyones going to tell me theyre glaciers but im just saying it just looks weird
