@CrimeAvenger2 Don't mean to be splitting hairs here, but a Ronin is a Samurai that has, for some reason, become masterless. Either their Daimyo was slain or his land siezed by Shogun or Emperor and the clan was abolished. The late Edo-jidai, when the Tokugawa Shogunate brought an end to Civil War in Japan, many Samurai were without work and Ronin became synonymous with vagabonds due to the sheer amount living in poverty. Emperor Meji finally forced the end to the elite class of Samurai forever

A samurai does not appear in this movie.
They are "Rōnin" (like a vagabond). They are not a merchant or a samurai, either.
