This makes me so angry. Schizophrenia doesn't come from trauma. Its definitely not an "escape", as you called it. Its completely medical. January hasn't developed schizophrenia from other lifetimes and past insanity. Like JaZZa161 said, its an imbalance in the brain.

I stopped playing this video about 52 seconds in. The reason why? This is actually one of the worst and potentially damaging ways of looking at paranoid/hebephrenic/catanoic etc. schizophrenia. This is coming from someone who's faced paranoid schizophrenia since childhood. So much said in this video has the potential to aggravate the negative effects of the condition and further distort the balance and calm that those like me have striven to achieve throughout life. Ms. Kimberley - get a clue.

I want to add that just because there are physical changes or differences in the brain of a person with this "mental illness" doesn't mean it is not related to the spirit as well. It is all connected. There can be physical signs that there is something different in one person's soul or spirit evident in their physical body or brain chemistry. One does not preclude the other. If you believe in god then you should also be open to what these women are saying.

When I saw the video of this girl the first thought I had was there is a real chance she is just intuitive and it is being majorly misinterpreted by the adults in her life. I see her as highly psychic and not mentally ill. It is sad to me that more people do not understand how close we are to that thin veil between our worlds. Some of us see things others cannot see. I know most will not see it as a real possibility and that is sad...especially for that little girl.

Wow. Please revise this video with a more comprehensive study on what schizophrenia is. There are many types, and as a person with education in psychology and has personal experience with the matter, I feel you should really research the topic before putting this video up. You are absolutely entitled to your opinion, but please make an educated one. Schizophrenia has a strong relationship to physiological differences and CAN BE triggered by traumatic experiences. This is not a definite cause.

Each Schizophrenia case is different. At this point in time the actual cause of Schizophrenia has not been found. There are many theories to the cause of Schizophrenia such as: genetic abnormalities or a lack of grey matter in the brain. There are less 'physical cause' theories like it's something in a person's environment that triggers the Schizophrenia, like Drug Abuse.

But the truth is that people can only theorize as to why a someone may have Schizophrenia. There is no true answer.

I'm doing a project on schizophrenia and its not cause from trauma. Schizophrenia has various causes and some of them are still unknown. Recently some doctors discovered that some cases are explained by the genetic mutation but trauma is certainly not one of the causes. Get your facts right or STFUP
