As much of a joke as the original English dub is, the Falconer music really helped with the atmosphere, especially during this scene.

Music between the Japanese & English dubs is a mixed bag for me. Some parts the original music is better, while with others Falconer fits better.  Nothing wrong with liking both either way, right?

kai without yamamoto is like pizza without crust. it doesnt work without it. listen to the english dub with the shitty kikuchi crap. this is so much better even if i cant understand the subs.

Yamamoto's score has not been lost. Efforts are under way by fans to mix the score with Blu Ray quality clips for download (Torrent). Just look for them, they're everywhere. Hell , you can get Kai until the end, with Yamamoto mixed by fans, even on youtube. Full episodes till the end of the show's run.
