It's awesome you have a lot more of an imagination than that...

  • @JohnnyDesaint do you think that it has enough power to pull my wagon?

  • @nevrenufhp thanx i think so too if anything i could put an electric fan..now to find an engine to buy haha!! im debating if i should get one from the junk yard.they seem good.

  • @popplewort333 whats a pre luber?

  • @JohnnyDesaint

That's 36 to the firewall with 2.5" of space to work with. I think it'll fit.

  • @nevrenufhp if its 36"from the waterpump to the firewall than it wont fit cause i still need to put the fan blade unless i find a water pump the bolts up with a shorter snout or eliminate the fan and put in a electric fan on the front of the radiator.thanx for all ur help!!

  • @JohnnyDesaint

I measured, and 33.5 is the minimal needed to clear the water pump. It's 36" from the water pump snout to the firewall, with a big gap at the back.

  • @nevrenufhp MY ENGINE BAY MEASURES 36 INCHES .NOW IF I COULD MEASURE THE ENGINE BAY OF A MUSTANG OR FORD TRUCK.

  • @JohnnyDesaint

Likely it's never been done, so you wont find much info. I would think no fan or clutch would make a lot of room. A 300 can fit in a 60s Mustang, so the Edsel shouldnt be much different. It would be a better choice than a 302, for sure. Check the fordsix site, under the "Fitting a 300 in a Mustang" thread.

  • @nevrenufhp i want to put a 300 in my 58 edsel wagon.but i cant find any info on what its gonna take to do swap.i heard a 302 will bolt up the easiest.but i really want a 300 but seems a bit to long for my bay.if it is i would probably have to remove fan and clutch and put in an electric fan.what do you think?

  • @jnny3000

It has duals with glasspacks now that run back to the bumper, and it's much better to not have all that noise in the cab. I didnt add a cam, but used the GM 292 rockers, which helps mid range by about 5hp.
