The transition from V8 to V4 and vice versa is almost instant. I like the AFM of the 5.3L as it does get better mileage than a 4.8L.

Things I like about the New Silverado:Locking Differential as option,simple basic reliable design. Things I don't like too much, at least as of now, the Active Fuel Management system..Doesn't seem to help that much anyways..takes 4 seconds to disengage if you accelerate quickly, so it is 4 seconds behind your foot action...4.8 liter doesn't have the 4 cylinder mode..
