Bless this girl only nine years old and she knows she dyspraxia can make you creative and she shows this through poetry i have dyspraxia i remember these feelings at school and never knew how to express myself correctly i would always be aggresive to people. she probally can teach people stuff about themselves that they never knew

@evietheboydxx I know it's hard when you're first getting diagnosed but I promise it gets easier. It's all about finding a way to cope and having a method to do things and well embracing your differentness. If you wan't to talk I want to listen.

im having a test next week to see whether im dyspraxic or not. i think i do though, because all the things in this poem applied to me when i was young, and some of the things still do. i hate being different :(

@Joolz211 it's a difficult one because so many people assume it seems to be a physical thing when in reality dyspraxia effects much more mentally than people realise. It's so hard to make people understand! Also it's not unlike OCD in the way that a lot of people assume it's just a normal thing that anybody could self-diagnose and deal with... and being dyspraxic and trying to express all of this to anybody who will listen is even worse, I can never find my words!

I am 38 years old, and have several disabilities, dysphasia (speech and language), dyspraxia, dyscalculia (maths), deafness and Irlen Syndrome, aka Scotopic sensitivity syndrome. Before coming to University, I wasn't very liked by the mainstream world as no-one understood my disabilities and they called me a freak. But I am showing them, as most of them aren't at uni and they aren't living the life that I have. I am a Vice President of a national charity and am popular at uni and doing well.

@WhateverNWhatNot I just got a lot of extra help in school from teachers so I was pretty lucky, math is still really hard for me, but generally things have gotten a lot better from all the help i recieved :D

@Tacoflavoredkiss1 US doesn't but I'm hoping to raise more awareness. What helped you to read, write, speak & do math? My sister & I so do wish for my nephew to get caught up, feel better about his condition-we want to see him get to where you are. We do everything possible to help OT, Speech Therapy, etc. What has helped you? In general? Thank you! :)

I show this to my 7yrs olds teachers so they can have a point of view from him. So they know we're not treating him like he's better..but adjusting to his needs because it is a disability. He's not lazy or an angry child...he's frustrated and learns differently. He just needs a little extra time to get things done
.
Dispraxia isn't pain
it can be hard, I might be strange
but I'm proud of who I am
and that I try as hard as I can.
I'm quite severly Dyspraxic, and I think the most important thing to remember is to keep trying and to realise that you can still achieve whatever you want to do.

I am 18 with dyspraxia, i only recently discovered the diagnosis, i never had any help with anything and people just assumed i was stupid, that just made me try so much harder but i could only ever achive Cs which isnt bad but i know i am smarter than that.
