I play football at WHS. He is such a talented player. I would love to have seen the WHS 1977 team; the greatest team in NJ history.

Thanks for posting. Butch did not even start until senior year in high school (not that he wasn't good, it's just that his team was that great). He went from nowhere to a top recruit in three short months.

Butch was great. Fastest recruit to that time in the entire Big Ten (Football or Track). He was actually more of a 220 guy than a 40 or 100. But, according to a guy who would know, Harry Carson, Butch's slashing style was not suited to pro.
Also, there was a time that Joe Morris was sitting on the bench and Woolfolk was starting..

Is it just me, or did the Washington defense just flat out SUCK against the run? Butch was good, but he wasn't Jim Brown.

we had 3rd and 34 and i told the washington fans around us "now you get to see michigans draw play" and darned if butch didnt get the first down...never heard another peep out of em all game...bob ufer said "didn't he look like a runaway piano?" ...great memory....oh yeah i was married the night before the game...haha

jersey kid did good.bad pro career though.short career with giant.loved seeing him run on the track in high school.
