@EdgarAllenPodunk: I take him seriously, as one of the greatest modern composers I've ever had the pleasures to feast my ears upon.

@EdgarAllenPodunk it keeps getting better and better

@bigperson it's called analysis. Omar is particularly bad at reflecting on his own work so it's interesting to do so ourselves.

@Ersatzbee maybe the dude just likes to make music... not everything needs an over the top motive.

Zach Hill is amazing on this

I just got my copy of this album today, and it is FUCKING AWESOME! The first two tracks are sort of annoying, but from track 3 on it just gets better and better. An excellent example of what Omar can really do with a little musical freedom.

I am a long standing lover of At The Drive In, Defacto and The Mars Volta. Omar Rodriguez Lopez's solo work is sublime, even it's harshest incarnations. This album though is my most loved. This is a pure funk/jazz/prog mash up. Cedric's singing/phrasing is brilliant. As much as I love MV, I do sometimes wish they would be this focused. Genius from beginning to end. If this isn't his best then my name is Warren Dates!
