This is one of my favorite speeches on the existence of God by a Christian popular apologist, Dr. Ravi Zacharias.

  • The lord of the rings may not be in verses but it is more straight forward then the iron age fairytale you are thrusting forward. The same spiritual fulfillment that is found in religion can be found in science by coming to know the natural world. Science is also the greatest tool ever devised for discovering how the world works on top of all this. Actually science CREATES(caps) fact and helps more people then every religion combined and only 5.8 million engineers and scientists exist today.

  • @craigsclutch

What do you mean by straight forward? I think that that has been one of the more interesting things you have said. Would you say, I am not trying to be facetious, that knowledge of the mating pattern's of, say, sloth's is knowledge that could in anyway be homogeneous with religious experience? What type of knowledge, knowledge "that", knowledge of the true etiology of natural phenomena, could be considered homogeneous to religious experience?

  • @craigsclutch The only thing you will ever find with science is a "description" of reality. Science cannot and will not ever have the capability of "prescribing". More simply, science gives what "is", when what is needed is what "ought" to be. Science can determine the identity of the murderer, but cannot say whether or not murder is wrong. To say that it can is a blatant plagiarization of theology and philosophy. Without these fields of thought, the "facts of Science" mean nothing.

  • @craigsclutch Spiritual fulfillment through science. If that is true, how do you propose to remove greed, envy, jealousy, rage, and other negative emotions? Is love something you can quantify? Is it simply biology? If civilization is really so recent as evolutionists claim within the timeline of history they believe in, then where does the moral conscience come from? We all have feelings, but they can change easily. Isn't morality supposed to be more solid than that? Does science make you HAPPY?

  • @Colton8646 And still we have that obligation to the truth. I agree that we, as christians, are natural allies. But developing respect involves acknowledging not only that which binds us together, but also how we are different. If we dont, we will never improve and it is natural that if we dont move forwards, we degrade.

Moral laziness is not an option for faithful Catholics.

  • Nihilism is bullshit the fact other animals have morals pretty much dissproves Nihilism. Nihilists just try and use the lie "there is no such thing as morals", in order to try and excuse them for being the poor excuse for people that they are.

  • @havock89 Catholic, Protestants, Evangelists and Church of England members we are all Christians together in my opinon and should focus on what we have in common than our differences. We all accept Jesus Christ as our saviour and God incarnate I think thats the main thing.

  • @Colton8646 That depends. Sharing the fullness of the faith with others leads many to come back home to Gods Holy Catholic Church. For them, their rewards has been increased more than their minds can realise. That is worth any amount of temporal emotional conflict. The only sword we are requireed to pick up, is the sword of truth. If we dont, we are not worthy of him.

  • @oleclown God is dead for you. Your intellect cannot tolerate God. that is the nature you have cultivated within yourself. Not so for us.

God is a self-evident reality, and God is goodness itself. No wonder Catholicism brings such joy into our lives.

  • @havock89 If I may fighting between denominations and hair splitting does not solve anything, it is because of this that Atheists manage to caricature and stereotype us Theists. Both Catholic and Protestants have been the faiths of some remarkable minds so there is no reason to fight.

  • @oleclown You use the phrase God is dead without understanding the context in which Nietzsche said it. "God is dead" was referencing to the the secularisation of society not the emergence of evidence against God. Context is everything.

  • I dont understand how such a great mind can believe such garbage? Through all the videos I have seen with Ravi he is such an intelligent dude but for some reason is so certain in his faith. God is dead. Follow my channel and blog if you really want to talk sense

  • Morality without absolute (Religious) morality? Contractarianism. Boom. Done. Everybody go home.

  • @craigsclutch I don't get how science can create the fact of logic since science presupposes logic. Science discovers facts of how the world works, but can't explain why its there. Science can't explain why we call someething beautiful, or why we say its better to love a baby than kill it when we're hungry. The 5.8 million engineers and scientists aren't the people who discovers new things. It was the effect of many more people. Tell me how science answers origin, meaning, morality, and destiny.
