A writer, author, and mother of two young girls, Corrigan recently penned The Middle Place what she defines as that sliver of time when parenthood and childhood overlap. At thirty-six, she had a marriage that worked, a couple of funny, active kids, a weekly newspaper column, and all the while felt as though she remained comfortably wedged between her adult duties and her parents care. A natural storyteller, Corrigan captures the beat of ordinary life and the everyday moments that bind families together.

I felt completely honored when a woman friend sent this to me. (I'm male) I have always been wistful about circles of woman friends. But I know the support it can offer and experienced it as I cared for my wife as she died of cancer. Beautiful video.

This video helped me get through the death of my mother as I watched how my female friends were there. With food. With a phone call at radiation time. With an offer to watch my kids. With the knowledge based on the look on my face that I needed a break from greeting people at her funeral. Truly an amazing "that is me" speech. I watch it often and it helps. It makes the time go by "just a hair faster".
