Did you trained him somehow to eat dead food? I don't want to let my cuttlefishes starve to long to get them to eat cheaper and better available food - but it would really help; as you sure know ;).
And to the other questions about egg prices. Just forget raising live, if you have to ask fo the egg price. the WILL cost up to 1000 within lifespan, as the video author already said.

If you're worried about the egg price they aren't for you. They can be really cheap or they can be 10-20$ an egg but even if they were 100$ an egg it won't have much effect on the bottom line. You will need to spend 100s on live mysids to feed them when they are small. This is basically the only acceptable food source. Then live shrimp when they get older but eventually grocery store shrimp.

hatched as an egg. Not hard but you have to be very committed they only eat live food for the first few months of their lives which can be hard to acquire. They also have very short lifespans of 12-14 months.
