This is the 2nd part of the first show at the Barrio Fiest 2006, we are all pretty nervious so the show isnt as smooth as we hoped it would be.

@tristet2002 Not sure what you're getting at, my man. I never really said anything about MMA in this thread, and think that discussions about "which art would win in a fight" are usually misguided and tedious. I know the RBSD arsenal well and appreciate its importance. IMHO anyone who spends a lot of time or energy trying to assert which brand of JKD is "legitimate" and has the right to be called "JKD" is wasting their time. That's all.

@IronMongoose1 don't get me wrong man. i respect what you believe. i do mma to and jkd at the same time coz im not trying to limit anything. but in competition martial arts, mma would prevail hands down. in a real fight. if a jkd fighter is skillful, mma would lose in a heartbeat since objective is to do whatever means necessary to put the opponent down ASAP. even use dirty moves. call it gay or dirty, but thats real fighting, not sports. and jkd fighters have no reason to follow your rules

But in a real fight, if an mma fighter and a jkd fighter fight, jkd would win. why? number 1: mma fighters thinking is always bound by rules even unconsiously. i saw this twice, personally. number 2: you can't grapple a person who knows how to handle weapons. JKD fighters use weapons. number 3: jkd loses in conditioning, but if you grapple a jkd guy, you would end up with either one eye left, beaten groin or whatever. i love mma tho

@ringaming ALL JKD flag-wavers make me laugh, when they expend time and effort defending their conception of what constitutes "legitimate" JKD. Even some Concepts guys talk smack about Chinese kung fu. Actually most of the 26 arts were classical kung fu styles.

@ringaming I have trained with Concepts folks in the past. JKD is not my thing, I do self-defence, grappling, and MMA-type stuff. I don't "fuss over the name" of JKD... that's one thing that Bruce was fairly clear about. I have no interest in waving the JKD flag, even less in arguing over what it should stand for. To me, what's worth training is what works, not what's "truly" JKD.
