@byen8 "Oh yeah? Well if he did that, I would do this..."
Comments like this from non-martial artists are very tiresome. This is a demo of technique, with some method. The real power of tai chi is in its structure. All good fighters understand this. That's why many of the best do internal styles at some point.
I teach tai chi to martial artists of many styles, including "mixed martial artists." They find it useful.
Bye the way, there is not that much money in MMA.

You're truly one of the best teachers on youtube!

I'm eager to take Tai Chi! I'm taking it this Spring at my college. Watching this make me want to take it more now.

Interesting

@taijiman7777 As a self defense teacher for a Police Academy who has studied hard, soft and MMA styles for fighting and respect and love them all....the concepts that work the best has always been the "soft" styles of Taiji/bagua/XingYi. After all, a punch is a punch whether it is a right-cross from boxing or a reverse punch from go-ju. Know your enemy's root of power and balance you can control and defeat him quickly with no effort on your part. Yes, the cops I taught use Taiji for selfdefense

@mmaizawezome dude, if thats your issue, then study tai chi....tai chi specializes in this since even an old guy can defend himself. Tai Chi is not about size and strength, rather it is about mastering balance and using your opponents strength against himself and directing your "chi" for maximum impact. A person with extreme outer strength is no match for someone that can direct his/her chi all in one point....

I'm glad to see you know your Tai Chi. You a fierce with it.

i ve heard size does not matter in martial arts is that true? because i always lose in bjj sparring because the guy is bigger than me.He could pick me up then throw me down.i would try to aim for his lower section for his body and make him fall so then i could do some ground fighting but he stays in place like a rock.So is it based on muscle or just technique?By the way i always wanted to take tai chi ive read its has a lot of health benefits and its very peaceful but destructive at the sametime

Could you please add CC to it? I have a hard time making out what they are saying
-
@taijiman7777 Good answer, if you can't see the value in adding relaxed power and sound body dynamics plus efficient use of leverage to your athletic training, you might be an internet troll with nothing better to do.

@byen8 mma is one thing.....just cause mma doesn't use it doesn;t mean i "can't" work...any technique can fail and knowledge of technique is simply just adding another tool to your tool belt or weapon to your arsenal....i don;t get when people throw out something cause it isn't undefeatable or not to their liking..anything can work.....and it's all knowledge so respect for that knowledge should be the operative.....it can't hurt to know..it can possibly hurt to NOT know....

try hold the ball part the horses mane then drop to a medium stance turn and push and watch their head grow wings.and to that byen 8 dude i do yang style tai chi and there are 108 moves for me to choose from.if you dont know about the string of pearls you should maybe find out ,not by being proud but by humbling yourself. i have used tai chi in a street fight and my knowing about the string of pearls gave me the advantage.i also know some kun tao,jui jitsu.but tai chi by far is my martial art.

The attacker when he punchs telegraphs and has bad footwork. He is also tense and has no snaping motion at the end of the strike.

Yes, indeed. He is extremely polite in that way. Too much respect for his teacher, perhaps.

@saiwaijin

@taijiman7777
I do not read Chinese very well. I am confused.

Or with google Translation:
我们合作,以证明我的想法。真正的太极拳有时似乎混乱。
