This is my favorite version of my favorite Wassail! Thank you!

@AEngleSaex Hi. This is actually a Cornish song! James Madison carpenter, the American folklorist, collected several versions of this wassail around the Truro area of Cornwall in 1929/30, and most of the text comes from his manuscript. Peter Kennedy recorded a version for the BBC in 1951 in the Cornish village of Malpas in the same area. Fierce proud we are down here!

Excellent treatment. I have heard Ramskyte (Hampshire 4 part male group) do this differently. Also wonderful.

Hi Thank's for watching! It's titled simply "Malpass Wassail" presumably because this particular "wassailng" song comes from Malpas in Cheshire. We first heard it on a "Watersons" CD, a family singing group from Yorkshire who sang mainly English traditional songs in four part harmony.
