Tent City in Ontario, California

March 29th 2008 road trip out to Ontario's widely discussed Tent City. Located right off of Washington Blvd, this makeshift shanty town is only about one hundred feet from a busy rail line. The international airport is immediately to the east. These people have no where else to go and they need our help. BBC was here just the other week.

People feel bad but who is doing anything its easy to feel bad for those less fortunate but to reach out and lift them out of where they are is a true blessing Come on people pay it forward , go help these people if you have a job employ them if you have a home take them in feed them than you will know the mind and heart of God

I understand people going on tough times, it can happen to everybody, but aren´nt these folks looking for jobs?

How come Social services doesn´t give housing to parents with children, or these people go to their folks to live instead of having their kids sleeping outdoors??

It´s a terrible situation...

The man that we spoke to was a skilled laborer in the drywall construction industry. He was simply down on his luck at a time when the economy was starting to go to shit. Just to clarify, yes, he desperately wanted to find work.

We have land, we have supplies, they say we have no money. However if your a goverment money is endless. So I say build, build damit build. Build schools, build houses, apartments, build malls and libaries. Lots of roads need paved and power lines ran. At $7.50hr (approximately $950.00 per mo after taxes) who in the hell honestly believes people can not only pay rent (a 1 bedroom i LA is abt 900 mo) but afford such luxuries as toilet paper, heat, lights & omg....food... Think before you start doggin people ...you might be next!!
