@chicksw50 but.. what im getting at is. you made a bold statement saying that these guys are the "top 5 bay rappers alive". i think that there are alot of old school guys that cant be overlooked simply because times have changed and the style is different. i think bad n fluenz would tear up most of the industry, but thats me...check out old rappin ron or old heiro (del)...you would probably be surprised at the mic skills of some of the older cats.

@chicksw50 Those guys you mention are from my era..."the golden era". they actually had pretty good song structure. well, big l did some pretty crazy shit. but, it seems like you like the things i like about nickatina. to each is own. i listened to tribe, group home, guru, jeru the damaja, old mobb deep, heltah skeltah, boot camp click, az, wu....as well as ugk, old outcast, scarface, seagram, bad n fluenz, spice 1 , brotha lynch...etc....trust me, if you could see my collection.....

@559BULLDOGG the thing is bruh, i'm an emcee myself. and i started listening to mainstream bubblegum anything that mtv would play rap. but then i started listening to a lot of intellectual legends like big L, big pun, nas, kool g rap, etc. you know the crazy, raw, rugged lyricists. so for me, i could give a fuck about song structure, i loved just studying the flow and how sick the verses were. so when it comes to gully, he just had sick rhyme structure and wordplay, which is rare for a bay cat.

@chicksw50 i dont mean to beat up the dead horse, but....lol....when you mentioned gully, i remembered that someone burned me a copy of david a couple of months ago. back then, i gave it a listen and wasnt really feelin it. i gave it good go this weekend and i must say that i still dont really see the appeal. people hype him up pretty good. to me, he sounds like rich boy with a little better vocab....i think its like the south is so used to their rappers not having skill, j cole sounds like nas!

Damn, everything I'm hearing from Locksmith is fire!!! Ski Beatz tracks are bangin' too. Its clear that hip-hop ain't dead. The powers that be have been bamboozling us for so long that even "hip-hop fans" ain't recognizing the real...The crap they pushin' on the radio and t.v. is so wack, it makes me wanna throw up. I'm sick of this s--t!!!

@chicksw50 You know whats funny is, people have told me shit like that in the past. like, whatch out for ya boy...hes dope...hes gonna be the next big thing from the bay...yada yada yada...i said, ya right. we'll see. just because someone can spit a hot 16, doesnt make them the best. lets see if they make impact first. i havent even really heard of them. second, lets see if they make good music.."classics"...third, lets see if they have staying power. without those, they are just another rapper.

@559BULLDOGG im not talking about legends. i'm talking about the best rappers right now, as in RAPPING not living off their past accomplishments. there are plenty of legends that made classics, but they are not lyrically up to par as these new cats i mentioned here. and with nickatina, its really either hate it or love it. cuz i know alot of people that love him, but some people think hes wack as fuck. im just talkin about the flow, metaphors, style, creativity, and versatility, not the image.
