wow this guy is a douche, having lived in a "multicultural country" my whole life(canada) i have to say, he has no clue what he's talking about. multiculturailsm jus means u can take your time to adapt. and thats what happens 2nd and 3rd generation canadians follow dominant society and become part of the culture, while new immigrants have a harder time. (obv) multiculturalism dosent destroy dominant culture and replace it! it merely adds sum parts of immigrant culture into dominant culture.

I lived in Canada for 35 years before I came to the US. In Canada, multiculturalism says: It is more important to maintain your old countries culture than it is to embrace Canadian culture. This is a fact. And Canadian culture suffers for it. In Canada you have hundreds of cultures under the same roof with all the same old grievances against each other. These cultures take but never give.

As Usual you have no idea what your talking about! What the hell is so wrong with people having their own culture within our culture? Need I remind you that China Town San Fransisco has existed for well over a century and the Chinese have not taken over or destroyed anything. In fact China Town San Fransisco has help boost the economy of that city and it's state. China Town is a tourist attraction, but oh well, it's fine keep oppressing people and telling them that they have to be just like us.

I've lived in Canada for 24 years and you have spoken the truth. IMO it's all about divide and conquer , unfortunately most Canadians are hardcore brainwashed. Multiculturalism forbids freedom of speech because it might offend other cultures. It's gotten so bad that as stated by the Globe and Mail "in the early 1990s, the old Reform Party was branded 'racist' for suggesting that immigration levels be lowered from 250,000 to 150,000."

@dvader42 Some of them had every right to keep their countries homogeneous. The means in which they went about it were all wrong, but then again, in those times, brutalities of all kinds were still very acceptable in many parts of the world. They were a little late to the sensible, humane and civilized ways many of us tend to do things these days, but still had every right to keep their countries single-culture-centric and homogeneous. Rights of the people is what it's about.

Why in the UK do we let muslims maintain their backward culture to the detriment of the white population. Why can't whites then drink alcohol and wear bikini's in Saudi Arabia? Why don't African countries practice multiculturalism if it is so great and diversity is so great. In South Africa black have to be given jobs whether or not they are qualified. In Zimbabwe if white farmers don't give their farms to blacks they are killed. There's no mass migration to Africa. But third world countires are migrating on mass to western countries and we are expected to bend over and lose our culture for theirs.
