  • @junkmailcen1 If you look at a map of the area, you'll notice that Schafer isn't within the wilderness boundaries. It's close, but not inside.

  • the needs to be emergancy area for the bob....for people in the area..packers...biologists...r­amgers ect......

  • What a terrible thing to do--to fly into the wilderness like that. With so few large wilderness areas in the lower 48, do we really need planes penetrating the few areas that remain. There is so much public land open to motorized use, why the fixation with entering the few big wild areas that are all that remain for those trying finally escape machines! I have always tended to avoid the areas around Schafer Meadows because of the frequent noise and traffic that it causes.
