@MissMaybellen quite simply for the same reason as other sports. physical strength and dexterity in tennis, football, golf etc and mental strength in chess .. no mystery about it, the top women w/ the odd exceptions here n there cd not seriously compete w/ the top 200 men let alone the top ten

@MissMaybellen:Masculine & Feminine are NOT equivalent in terms of qualities & characteristics-Men & Women are not equivalent in terms of the qualities,capacities,strengths­,weakensses etc.In other words,there ARE in fact activities & areas which are inherently Masculine&vice-versa-Chess is a combination of Art,Science&Sport-& it is fundamentally a Struggle-the fact is that these are inherently Masculine activities,as they involve qualities&capacities that are inherently Masculine-not Feminine.
